About Log Cabin Republicans

We are loyal Republicans who believe in limited government, strong national defense, free markets, low taxes, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. As such, we believe it is wholly consistent as the Party of Lincoln which was formed in order to end slavery, and as Conservatives who believe in a limited government that expands freedom for its citizens rather than takes it away, that the Republican Party be the champion for equal rights and protections for all.

Conversely, we believe in the true diversity of the gay and lesbian community, and that includes the diversity of thought and political perspectives. Log Cabin Republicans provide a home for those within the gay and lesbian community who want to talk openly with others who share their values without fear of judgment or exclusion.

As gay and lesbian Republicans and allies, LCR is able to build bridges to both Religious Conservatives as well as those in the community who are open to working together on the shared cause of equality and the comprehensive diversity of our community. Bottom line: We fight for full gay and lesbian equality within the Republican Party, and we fight for gay and lesbian Republicans to be fully welcome within the larger gay and lesbian community. 

Mission

Our mission is to be the most welcoming Log Cabin Republican chapter in the nation. We do this with a purposeful and robust calendar filled with social, political, and civic events. We believe the Republican Party needs a "makeover" of sorts, and who better to do than the gays and lesbians of our party?

Our vision is to "Reimagine Red" whereby we make it more mainstream to be gay and Republican. We will do this by fielding, training and developing a set of political candidates through our membership at the grassroots level and getting them elected to office to create lasting change for both our gay and lesbian communities.
